GCRT VII, Day 8... The Last Roundup

Another road trip draws to a close tonight as the Everett Silvertips fall to
the Calgary Hitmen, 2-1 in overtime. Everett fought gamely tonight despite
being short six players including two top scorers, but an ill-timed penalty
(19:17 of the third period) by Everett's Kyle Thoring doomed the Silvertips'
chances of a winning road trip. And so, we come away without a winning
record yet again. Though it should be noted that we were in the first or
second row of seats for four out of five games... tonight we were behind the
Everett bench, second row back.

Today's journeys were entirely by light rail within the city of Calgary; in
fact, we made the trip to the Chinook Centre Mall to round out the fridge
magnet hunt and that was about it aside from the game. As per tradition,
we're both tired at the end of the line.

Next year's road trip is still up for negotiation; we have determined that
Alberta and most likely Saskatchewan are going to go on hiatus for a few
years while we explore new territory. After all, we still have the BC
division and the US division to explore in the WHL, and we haven't even
*looked* at the Ontario Hockey League.

Tomorrow, as least for me, is simply the re-packing of the luggage to try to
get everything in before I get on my flight home. Erik's flight is on
Sunday, as the connections for Saturday were lousy.

Goodnight from the prairie, y'all. I'll be home tomorrow, eh?
